As our technology continues to evolve, we thought we’d give you a quick update to some efficiency and quality of life improvements we’ve made recently.

While we’re focusing on some small updates today, keep your eyes peeled for some much larger feature updates coming soon.

Recent Updates

Boxed Orders – Label at pack

FC operations

We’ve made some enhancements to the parcel labelling process, reducing the time that complex international orders take to dispatch. It also ensures fewer orders get held up by the system, inching us closer to that coveted 100% success rate for orders going out on time.

Improved Time Zone Configuration

New client feature

For our US clients, we’ve made some back-end changes to ControlPort’s timezone configuration to improve the accuracy of US reporting.

Improved Wholesale Orders Feature

New client feature

We’ve added a small but significant quality of life feature for clients who raise wholesale orders through our platform. Clients can now add multiple documents via the ‘Browse’ button, and are no longer required to add one document at a time.

This should speed up the wholesale ordering process for those of you with multiple documents to upload.

Larger Assembly Instructions

New client feature

We’ve made it easier for clients to raise large assembly instructions through our system. Previously, clients could only order 999 assemblies at one time, meaning they had to submit multiple orders for larger assemblies.

We’ve increased the maximum number of assemblies to 99999. Those couple of extra 9s means you can create significantly more assembly instructions in one go.

There’s some exciting stuff on the horizon…

Automated parcel sorter

FC operations

There’s a lot of construction work going on at our UK fulfilment centre right now. That’s because we’re in the process of building a brand new, automated parcel sorter to help us make our fulfilment operation even more efficient.

This new bit of kit will run right through our packing area. Once our fulfilment teams have finished packing your order, they’ll simply place it on a conveyor belt, where it’ll be transported to the dispatch area. En route, our new machine will sort the parcel automatically, and place it into the correct collection bin to await dispatch.

This exciting new addition is the first phase in our brand new multi-year automation roadmap, which we’ll share in more detail very soon.

Extended API functionality

New client feature

We’re working on new upgrades to our existing API’s, allowing ControlPort to send and receive more information to and from your online marketplaces. We’ll have more to share with you on this soon.

That’s it for today, but keep your eyes peeled for some BIG ControlPort updates rolling out over the next few months.
