Dr. Squatch

Dr. Squatch set their eyes on the international market.

Even if you’re not a customer of Dr. Squatch just yet, you’ve probably seen the adverts. Their flagship commercial ran in front of millions of sports fans at Super Bowl LV, and their tongue-in-cheek social media advertising campaign has been running strong for several years.

But the Dr. Squatch brand is both style and substance. Today, they offer a wide range of natural, great-smelling products for men. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, lotions, and so much more. If you need something that smells great, makes you clean, and goes on your body, chances are that Dr. Squatch has something to offer you.

Throw in some fabulous partnerships with colossal entertainment franchises like Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and Marvel, and you can see why The Squatch truly is a force (for mankind) to be reckoned with.

Behind the strong brand and unforgettable marketing is a great story of entrepreneurship. Jack Haldrup founded Dr. Squatch in 2013 after battling with psoriasis for most of his life.

He had always found run-of-the-mill synthetic soaps to do nothing to help his skin, so began making hand-pressed natural soap in his garage. Seven years later, the business turned over $100 million in revenue, cementing Dr. Squatch as one of America’s most successful hygiene brands on the market today.

Dr. Squatch and J&J Global Fulfilment

After reaching an astounding level of success in their home turf of the United States, it was only natural for Dr. Squatch to set their eyes on the international market.

While their domestic fulfilment provider was taking care of international fulfilment for them, Dr. Squatch understood that to truly scale internationally, they would need a 3PL partner with expertise in growing brands overseas.

Why did Dr. Squatch Choose J&J?

International network

With international growth being at the top of their priority list, Dr. Squatch needed a partner who could support those growth ambitions. At J&J, we’ve helped over 600 brands expand internationally through our global network of fulfilment centres, with sites in North America, the UK, Europe, and Australia.

J&J’s regional expertise has helped us improve service and reduce shipping costs exponentially to areas in which we were struggling.

Jason Welsh, Senior Fulfilment Manager, Dr. Squatch

Dr. Squatch came on board intending to hit the ground running, and are now fully operational in three of our sites; Northampton, UK, Venlo, Netherlands, and Brisbane, Australia.

Personable team

The folks at Dr. Squatch believe the best results come from personable teams that can work together to exceed expectations and create productive partnerships. One of the things that stood out about J&J during the tendering process was the friendliness and genuineness of the J&J team.

eCommerce can be complex, and some areas of logistics can even be a little dry. At J&J, we always aim to excite and invigorate the clients we work with and hope that our passion for the industry is evident from the way we communicate with our clients.

Flexible technology

Another area of J&J that Dr. Squatch were particularly attracted to was our online platform, ControlPortâ„¢. During the live demo, they were impressed with how detailed the reporting functionalities were, while still being user-friendly.

Specifically, Dr. Squatch was drawn to ControlPort’s industry-leading batch tracing and best-before-end reporting features, both of which are highly important and relevant to the skincare industry.

How we’ve helped Dr. Squatch to See More, Sell More, and Grow More

Quicker click-to-delivery

With our localised fulfilment solutions, Dr. Squatch can deliver to customers in the UK, Europe, and Australia in 1-5 days using their preferred economy services. When they were shipping productions to those areas from the USA, it would take anywhere from 7 days to 28 days.

Regardless of how great your product is, it’s difficult to penetrate an overseas market if your customers need to wait almost a month for their order to arrive. A localised solution and quicker click-to-delivery means more people from more places are willing to buy from you.

Improved customer retention

Now that Dr. Squatch’s overseas customers are being served a far superior post-checkout experience, the company has seen a significant improvement in customer retention and increased subscription sign-ups.

Both repeat purchases and subscriptions are key revenue drivers for Dr. Squatch. It proves that a localised fulfilment solution creates a far better customer experience because the last mile is much easier to navigate and optimise.

Hands-off fulfilment

Regarding order processing, Dr. Squatch has enjoyed a fully hands-off fulfilment experience. At J&J, our reliable teams and custom-built warehouse management technology enable us to process orders with remarkable speed and precision.

With J&J, I don’t need to babysit or micromanage. I know I can trust them to handle their business.

Jason Welsh, Senior Fulfilment Manager, Dr. Squatch

Dr. Squatch trusts us to look after their overseas customers and global business reputation, which means they can allocate resources away from the day-to-day operation and put time and energy into where it matters most; growth.

If you’re an eCom brand with international growth ambitions and require an experienced fulfilment partner with regional expertise, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
